New EBSCO interface for databases

From 31 May, all databases that the Library has access to on the EBSCOhost platform – that includes popular databases like MEDLINE, Business Source Complete, CINAHL, Academic Search Complete, ERIC and PsycINFO – will move to their new user interface, similar to our Articles and More search engine. We have already provided direct links to the new versions for some of the databases, but from this date only the new versions of any EBSCO database will be accessible. We understand any old URLs will automatically redirect to the new versions.

In most cases, while the look and feel is different, the content is identical and the functionality is similar. Some functions do now require a MyEBSCO account to be created, such as bulk downloading of references.

If users already have saved items, searches and articles in a MyEBSCO account, in the vast majority of cases these should transfer across. However a few specialised items will not; we recommend taking a look at EBSCO’s guidance on these data if you have, for example, used shared folders or permalinks in the past.
